Habiart plans to hold an Art workshop as part of the India Splendor Event, celebrating 60 years of Indian Independence, in the foyer of UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television for five days, from 10th to 14th August 2007.

The workshop will be held from 11:00 AM to 5:00PM . It shall be open to the faculty and students of UCLA between 2:00PM to 6:00PM and for public viewing between 6:00PM to 8:00PM daily. Art workshops acquire a special connotation as they felicitate interaction between the artist groups and viewers. The interaction generates a unique synergy within the group and cultivates an understanding of the creative realm.

The art works created during the workshop will be displayed on easels in Royce Hall on 15th August and will be sold by a silent auction. The bids will be solicited on 15th August and shall be open to further bidding on the website for a period of thirty days.

At the cocktail reception on 12th August, eminent artists Bose Krishnamachari, S. Harshavardhan, C.Jagdish and Shamshad Husain, representing three generations of the Indian Art scene, shall be participating.
