Sheetal Sheth
Sheetal Sheth burst onto the scene with rave reviews on her debut film role, playing the lead in ABCD - a risky and memorable role as a promiscuous young girl struggling with the ties of family and tradition. She discovered her passion for acting in high school and subsequently enrolled in the esteemed Tisch School of the Arts at New York University . After supplementing her education with a summer in Amsterdam as part of the intensive, International Theatre Workshop, studying under renowned acting teachers like Kristin Linklater, she graduated with honors. Since then Sheetal has developed a reputation as a consummate professional with an unmatched work ethic and critical eye when choosing projects. She has starred in several feature films, including WINGS OF HOPE for which she won the Best Actress Award at the Cinevue Film Festival, and AMERICAN CHAI which won the Audience Award at the Slamdance Film Festival and Best Film at the Philadelphia Festival. She was brought on to play opposite Kal Penn and Mimi Rogers in DANCING WITH TWILIGHT and broke out in the recent LOOKING FOR COMEDY IN THE MUSLIM WORLD. She was the female lead opposite legendary Albert Brooks, which Warner Independent released in January 2006. The movie was filmed in India and Los Angeles and Sheetal won the role following an extensive international casting search.

Sheetal joined a stellar ensemble in the film THE TROUBLE WITH ROMANCE. Sundance director Gene Rhee directed this provocative, sexy and insightful exploration of relationships...Sheetal played a high class call girl looking for love in this wonderful cast including Kip Pardue, Josie Davis, David Eigenberg, and Jen Siebel. She recently completed I CAN'T THINK STRAIGHT, the thriller FIRST FEAR, and most recently, THE WORLD UNSEEN, based on the novel dealing with the 50s apartheid South Africa.
Sheetal's career is not limited to feature film - she loves theater and has also charmed with voice-overs, music videos, and TV. Including guest starring on many TV series, Sheetal most recently landed a recurring role in the NBC comedy THE SINGLES TABLE alongside Alicia Silverstone and John Cho.
Sheetal was raised with a strong ethic of community service and continues to implement those values. While at Tisch, she was selected to be a part of Americorps, President Clinton's National Service program. Through Americorps, she went to an inner-city high school and developed progressive lesson plans that would interest the students, tutored and learned conflict resolution. She also developed arts awareness programs for groups with no resources. While at NYU, Sheetal further devoted time to an array of activities, from cultural chair and vice president of the South Asian Students' Organization to the distinctive honor of being a Tisch scholar. Sheetal continues to speak at panels and conferences for students.
